It’s been such a long time since I posted on this blog! Someday I’ll explain why – it’s a long and complicated story. But right now I want to announce that #ClassicsTober is back, for a fourth year – and is set to be bigger and better than ever!
If you’d like to join in, here are the daily prompts for each day of October, and this year they’re Ancient History themed…

Every one of the prompts has been chosen by a historian or classicist (thank you to everybody who contributed a name!). Those contributors will be our expert for the day – so watch out for their posts on social media, and I’ll also host a weekly roundup here.
If you’d like to know more about our historical figure of the day, check out the information compiled by my wonderful co-organiser, on her Greek Myth Comix site: https://greekmythcomix.com/classicstober-24-details/. We’ve both learned a lot from this list – there are people on it whom we’d never heard of, and it’s been such a joy to learn about them!
Please do join in, if you’re inclined, on the social media platform of your choice – or just follow along with the fun by reading and sharing #ClassicsTober posts! You can post drawings or poetry, ancient sources, videos, costumes, craft – absolutely anything, as long as it’s not AI! There’s no pressure to contribute something every day – feel free to just choose the prompts that inspire you. Oh, and don’t forget the hashtags #ClassicsTober and #ClassicsTober24, so that we can spot your posts and share them!
Personally, this year I’m going back to drawing cartoons, with my glamorous assistant (and printer gremlin) as inspiration…
